Your privacy matters

This Privacy Policy explains how Xanthe, developed by RUPERT VANE, handles information when you use the app. Xanthe is a personal mood journal designed to help you reflect on your wellbeing.

We built Xanthe with privacy in mind. Your personal data stays on your device and is not sent to external servers.

Information you provide

Xanthe stores the following data locally on your device:

• Mood check-ins and emotional ratings
• Journal notes and personal reflections
• Custom tags you assign to entries
• Survey responses and preference selections
• Weekly goals and check-in streaks
• Reminder settings and notification preferences

How data is stored

All information is saved locally on your iPhone or iPad using secure on-device storage. Xanthe does not operate cloud servers and does not upload your journal content to the internet.

App functionality only

Your data is used exclusively to power features inside Xanthe:

• Display mood history, charts, and insights
• Track your weekly goals and streaks
• Send optional local reminders at your chosen time
• Export your data as a JSON file when you request it

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Local reminders

If you enable daily reminders, Xanthe schedules local notifications on your device. Notification permissions are managed by iOS. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app or in system settings.

Control your data

You have full control over your information:

• Export all data as JSON from the Profile screen
• Delete individual journal entries at any time
• Clear all app data permanently using the Clear All Data option
• Remove the app to erase all locally stored information

No external tracking

Xanthe does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising networks, or social media trackers. We do not collect device identifiers for profiling or behavioral advertising.

Age requirement

Xanthe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us and we will assist with removal.

Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page. Continued use of Xanthe after changes means you accept the updated policy.
